Operations Manager - Die Shop

Job Summary
Oversee all Die Shop operations, including managing production processes, maintaining die performance databases, and ensuring optimal production scheduling. Analyze die performance trends to implement improvement initiatives while liaising with production, planning, drawing office, and die manufacturing teams. Lead and develop a team of approximately 20 staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Monitor operational expenditure, control equipment performance, and investigate customer complaints to implement preventative actions. This role requires at least five years of operations management experience, including tool room management and experience with milling and lathe machines. Candidates must possess a valid Code 8 driver's licence and be willing to work overtime and occasionally on Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years' experience in operations management and process control
- Tool room management experience
- Experience working with milling and lathe machines
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong understanding of die maintenance and technical problem-solving
- Proven supervisory and management experience
- Experience managing teams of approximately 20 staff members
- Computer literacy
- Valid Code 8 driver's licence
- Willing to work overtime when required as well as occasionally on Saturday's
