Job Summary
Operations Manager role in Cardiff, NSW, responsible for delivering safe leadership of site personnel (including apprentices and trades), conducting zero-harm and critical-risk inspections, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (quality, finance, engineering, supply chain), input into build plans and project schedules, ensuring efficient production plans and resource control, and maintaining compliance with manufacturing, design, and customer specifications. Requires trade or tertiary qualifications in engineering, prior rolling stock operations/manufacturing/maintenance experience, strong leadership, proven production-planning capabilities, and demonstrated application of LEAN and continuous improvement to drive zero-harm and quality initiatives. Emphasis on developing relationships with stakeholders and contributing to operational and project budgets; offers a supportive team environment and opportunity to work with an ASX-listed company. Required Qualifications
- Trade or tertiary qualifications in engineering or related disciplines
- Experience in rolling stock operations, manufacturing, and maintenance environments
- Significant leadership experience with accountable workforce
- Production planning and management of work schedules
- LEAN methodologies in production
- Ability to drive zero harm / quality initiatives
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
- Relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders
