Job Summary
Lead a specialized team in planning, organizing, and managing operations to ensure chemical loading, warehouse activities, and related processes are performed safely, environmentally responsibly, and efficiently. Participate in budget preparation, profit and loss management, and daily communication with customers and railroads regarding scheduling. Provide consistent service on every shift while learning, implementing, and teaching the S7 Operating System and 5S standards. Build strong relationships with customer contacts, vendors, and team members to drive innovation and reduce turnover. Promote a safety culture where personal responsibility for identifying and performing safe behaviors is valued, utilizing coaching techniques to improve behaviors and resolve conflicts. Work independently with minimal supervision to develop and execute a business plan including budgeting, variance analysis, and cost management.
Required Qualifications
- Trucking background A+
- Transload experience A+
- Must have leadership skills to ensure team members always follow procedures even when there is no one is watching
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work with and perform basic computer operations (spreadsheet, word processor, and email operations), and general office organization
- Good written and oral skills with an ability to communicate with co-workers, customers, and others company personnel
- Ability to lead employees, support conflict resolution, and implement safety initiatives
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements
- Ability to meet requirements of pre-employment screening including but not limited to background and criminal history check, drug & alcohol testing, MVR, physical/FCE, etc
Desired Qualifications
- College degree preferred
- 3+ years management preferred
- 5+ years of chemical loading experience preferred
- Must be able to work outdoors in various climates
- Ability to work varying shifts dependent on operation and/or customer needs
- Ability to meet physical requirements for the position
- Desire and willingness to learn
