Job Summary
Lead a specialized team in planning, organizing, and managing operations to ensure chemical loading, warehouse activities, and related processes are performed safely, environmentally responsibly, and efficiently. Perform Safety Management System activities including employee efficiency testing, loss prevention observations, and incident reporting while implementing corrective actions based on site audits. Coordinate safety initiatives, workflow procedures, and daily operational needs to align services with customer requirements. Supervise contractors, manage site staffing, handle payroll, and oversee locomotive procurement and maintenance programs. Identify new business leads and execute start-up plans while fostering harmonious employee relations and guiding supervisors. Requires two years in a leadership position within rail switching or industrial environments, one year with Safety Management Systems, and one year managing capital and operating budgets. Required Qualifications
- Experience managing railway personnel in a customer focused environment
- Experience in managing for efficiency and effectiveness to bring about change in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum two (2) years in a leadership position preferably in the rail switching and/or industrial environment
- One (1) year experience working with Safety Management Systems in an industrial environment
- One (1) year experience developing and managing capital and operating budgets
- Proficient in a Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with the skill to adapt easily to other software systems
- Ability to perform rail switching as a ground person and/or locomotive operator if necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in SAP operating & accounting software
