Job Summary

Manage operation and maintenance activities for the water system, including expense budgets, capital execution, customer service, and SOX compliance. Lead the team by prioritizing work, conducting evaluations, overseeing training, and managing hiring and disciplinary actions. Oversee distribution, quantity, and quality operations, maintenance, construction, and budget monitoring while resolving complex customer service issues. Provide oversight for well sites, booster stations, reservoirs, treatment plants, sampling, and testing, ensuring certified operators are properly trained. Respond to water quality inquiries, adhere to NPDES permits, and interact with applicable agencies. Establish relationships with local government officials and act as the company representative in public forums. Perform on-call duty as required and participate in community service organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and, or equivalent relevant water industry or field operations experience
  • Five years of increasingly responsible experience in management or supervisory role
  • Five years of experience working in a water utility in operations, or related field
  • Washington State Water Distribution Manager 3 or the ability to obtain in 6 months
  • Washington State Water Treatment Plant Operator 2 or the ability to obtain in 6 months
  • Washington State Cross-Connection Control Specialist
  • Must live within 45 minutes of the district
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid Washington Driver License
