Job Summary
Operations Manager to oversee the Port Allen West Baton Rouge pupil transportation site. Lead and supervise a diverse frontline team of school bus drivers and monitors, coordinate daily dispatch and bus routes, coach staff on safety and performance, conduct training on new technology (GPS, student tracking apps), and manage payroll and invoicing. Ensure compliance with district/state safety protocols, drive route optimization for efficiency, coordinate fleet maintenance, and maintain meticulous regulatory records. Emphasizes a culture-first, safety-focused leadership approach and impactful, hands-on management of operations and people.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years in transportation (School District or Pupil Transportation experience highly preferred)
- 3+ years of supervisory experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Education Admin is a plus)
- Ability to obtain CDL through in-house training program
- Proficiency in hosting Zoom/Teams calls and conducting in-person staff briefings and large-scale safety meetings
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a diverse workforce and customer base
- Knowledge of DOT and State Department of Education regulations and safety protocols
