Job Summary
Design and implement the organisational structure, policies, and processes required to run a global company, ensuring consistency across markets and scalability. Own and continuously improve the end-to-end operational model in Melbourne facilities to support 5x scaling without building standard bureaucracy. Maintain robust compliance ecosystems aligned with the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and ISO 9001 certifications. Drive synergy across engineering, manufacturing, finance, and commercial teams to identify and resolve operational bottlenecks. Shape the Melbourne workplace environment and lead a high-performing operations function that prioritizes customer delivery. Apply AI and automation to reporting, compliance, and back-office workflows to remove manual effort. Map the current operating model within the first 90 days and propose improvements to standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Senior operations leader with a track record of building scalable operating models in complex, fast-moving environments
- Experience at Operations Manager, Head of Operations, or equivalent level leading scaling functions in a complex, fast-moving organisation
- Proven track record in program delivery, business transformation, and process engineering within Defence, aerospace, or deep-tech industries
- Strong working knowledge of the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and ISO 9001
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a clear capacity to communicate cleanly across software engineers, machinist teams, and corporate board members
- Ability to make good decisions with incomplete information and adjust quickly when the picture changes
- Ability to identify where relative investments of time and accuracy are made to align with strategic objectives
- Comfort with ambiguity
