Job Summary
Operations & Maintenance Technician role combining hands-on mechanical maintenance with utility system monitoring and operation in a hybrid setting. Core responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance on indoor/outdoor process equipment (pumps, valves, tanks, piping, rotating machinery), planning materials for service and maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems, supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment/process lines, maintaining CMMS records, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance. Also responsible for monitoring and operating plant utility systems (boilers, chillers, HVAC, water chemical feed systems, other continuous process systems), logging readings, responding to alarms, assisting with startups/shutdowns and emergency procedures, and providing direction or training to less experienced O&M specialists. Requires ability to read P&IDs and technical manuals, conduct routine inspections, participate in on-call rotations, and operate tools and equipment safely. Qualifications emphasize a high school diploma or GED and relevant technical certification or associate degree with at least 3 years of experience, along with a valid driver’s license and background check.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, process technology, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or utility operations
- Familiarity with utility systems such as boilers, chillers, HVAC, Dust Collectors, Scrubbers, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check and subject interview
- Valid driver’s license
