Job Summary
Operations & Maintenance Supervisor at the Belleville Hydroelectric Facility leads daily plant operations, maintenance, and safety; develops work plans, supervises staff, and coordinates power delivery to the grid. Manages CMMS for work orders, tracking labor/materials, inventory, and preventative maintenance; oversees large maintenance and capital projects from RFPs to execution; handles plant purchasing and parts inventory; develops safety procedures, conducts safety tailgates and risk assessments; ensures start-ups/shut-downs comply with OSHA; maintains intake cleanliness, waste disposal, and regulatory compliance; prepares operating budgets and outage/maintenance/inventory reports; oversees high-voltage equipment and transmission-line maintenance; coordinates outages with Energy Control Center, contractors, and safety teams; reports dam safety concerns; interfaces with the public; on-call 24/7; performs Plant Operator duties as required; requires two- or four-year engineering- or engineering-technology degree and supervisory experience.
Required Qualifications
- Two- or four-year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or engineering technology
- one year of supervisory experience in plant operations, or five to ten years experience in power plant operations including supervisory experience
- Familiarity with OSHA, FERC, NERC, and USACE requirements
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of power plant equipment and operation
- Ability to read instruction manuals, blueprints, logic diagrams, and schematics
- Good problem-solving skills; basic mechanical and electrical skills
- Ability to follow complex instructions and react calmly during emergencies
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of control devices and metering devices in power plants
- Experience with programmable logic controllers is a plus
- Proficiency with MS Office, email, Maximo, and other software
- Excellent physical condition to work in adverse weather, submerged plant environment; ability to lift 65 pounds
