Job Summary
As an Operations Leader at Petco, you’ll be a trusted member of the leadership team on the floor, overseeing daily operations, supervising partners, opening/closing, and serving as a point of contact when management isn’t present. You’ll deliver friendly, knowledgeable service, maintain store appearance and merchandising standards, assist with inventory and checkout activities, train new partners, and uphold animal care standards to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for pets, pet parents, and colleagues. You’ll lead on-store tasks, resolve issues in real time, support promotions and store goals, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team culture. The role emphasizes leadership, customer service excellence, cash handling, merchandising, and operational controls in a Pet Care Center environment with occasional travel for training or meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Previous retail experience required
- Key holder or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and experience handling cash and transactions
- Reliable, responsible, and detail oriented
