Job Summary
Plan, lead, and execute handover to Operations including commissioning of new wells and process facilities; direct operators on handover activities from commissioning technicians. Lead and manage maintenance planning, plant reliability, and turnaround activities for production and support facilities, directing the work of operators and managing schedules. Responsible for performance management of operators and timecard approvals. Train and mentor Operations personnel, aiming for board/panel certification. Oversee contractor work to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Lead and participate in safe, cost-efficient operations aligned with annual budgets; investigate incidents and operational upsets; ensure SOPs and regulatory governance (PHMSA/DOT, OSHA, SOA) are followed. Maintain qualifications across all areas including facility control room board/panel; cover operator tasks as needed. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; propose SOP improvements and cost optimizations. Lead facility/drill site modifications and special projects, manage priorities and deadlines, and provide performance feedback. Knowledge of Process Safety Management, SAP/Prometheus work orders, and start-up/commissioning support; solid KPI understanding and reporting. Formal requirements include a Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred), with an educational background to High School graduation or GED (or equivalent) and a valid Alaska driver’s license; ability to pass DOT pre-employment screening. Ten years of oil and gas operations experience required; willingness to work a 12-hour day/night shift on a North Slope Alaska rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years operations experience in oil and gas
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
- DOT drug screen, fit-for-duty, and background check
- Alaska state motor vehicle license
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent
- Read, understand PFDs and P&IDs
- Experience leading maintenance planning and turnover activities
- Experience supervising contractors
- Strong knowledge of PHMSA/DOT/OSHA/SOA regulatory governance
