Job Summary
Unload pallets, boxes, and bundles; handle, sort, and fill hoppers, boxes, and conveyor belts. Unpack materials by cutting wires, removing bolts, and separating plastics, zip ties, and blister packs. Operate recycling equipment such as metal shears, band saws, and wire strippers while directing yard vehicle traffic. Perform moderate to heavy physical tasks including disassembling equipment, cutting pipefittings, and light facility maintenance like painting and scraping. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace through sweeping, debris collection, and proper waste disposal. Adhere to all federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental rules for the scrap metal yard. Pass a medical physical, drug test, and background check; bi-lingual skills are a plus.

Desired Qualifications
- Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
- Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands
- Willingness to learn how to: sort metal, identify colors, shapes, and weights; properly maintain equipment; properly utilize PPE
