Job Summary
Analyze, design, and develop operator training programs for non-licensed, licensed operators, Shift Managers, and Shift Technical Advisors. Deliver classroom and simulator-based instruction while administering examinations and evaluating trainee performance on-the-job and in simulation. Maintain SRO Certification and support plant refueling outages by transitioning to plant staff during lengthy outages. Function as a member of the site Emergency Response Organization and assist with in-processing for contract employees during plant outages.
Required Qualifications
- Expertise/familiarity with power plant operations
- Demonstrated ability to interface well with people
- Effective communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to present training material to various class sizes with varied entry-level knowledge
- Organizational and administrative skills
- Self-motivation
- Ability to work independently and in teams with minimal supervision
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Satisfaction of all Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission security requirements
- Diploma or GED
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years of work experience related to plant operation
- 3 years of training related experience
- Any combination of instructional or work experience related to the operation of a commercial or military nuclear facility; military or commercial instructor, public education or college/technical school teacher, or qualified in-plant trainer
- National Academy of Nuclear Training (NANT) instructor qualification or must be qualified within 1-year of assignment
- Familiarity with SAT principles and applicable regulatory requirements associated with licensed and non-licensed operators
- Familiarity with requirements to maintain accreditation of the operator training programs
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear power plant
Desired Qualifications
- Technical expertise in another discipline, such as electrical and mechanical maintenance, health physics or chemistry
- Bachelor's degree
- RO or SRO license or SRO Certification
- Military or commercial nuclear experience
