Job Summary
The Operations General Labor position involves unloading pallets, material handling, unpacking boxes, and disassembling small equipment. Responsibilities include working with recycling equipment, directing yard vehicles, facility maintenance, housekeeping, and organizing materials. Candidates must comply with all safety regulations and pass a medical physical, drug test, and background check. It is preferred that candidates have a high school diploma or GED, and skills in effective communication and basic math are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass a medical physical and drug test
- Must pass a background check
- Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are 'grandfathered' into their positions.
- Ability to communicate with others effectively
- Ability to understand direction (written or oral)
- Basic math skills as the job demands
- Willingness to learn how to sort metal
- Ability to identify colors, shapes, and weights
- Ability to maintain equipment
- Ability to properly utilize PPE
Desired Qualifications
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
- High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
