Job Summary
Operations Engineer, Network Services role focused on second-level technical support for GTT's international client base. Responsible for incident and change management, vendor and internal coordination, proactive problem analysis, and ensuring service stability and customer satisfaction. Requires hands-on experience with telecom/network technologies, routing and security, and strong diagnostic capabilities. Hybrid/remote work options indicated, with work primarily around European business hours. The role emphasizes incident ownership, timely resolution, and clear communication/documentation with customers and third parties.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in operations of a Telco, Service Provider, Managed Services Provider or similar environment
- Knowledge of DIA & IP Transit, MPLS, L2VPN & L3VPN, Managed Security services
- Excellent fault diagnostics and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with routing protocols (BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP)
- Experience with L2 technologies (VLANs, Q-in-Q, Trunks, VTP, Spanning-Tree Protocols, Aggregation/LACP)
- Knowledge of network security technologies and NGFWs (NAC, VPN, DPI, IPS/IDS, Application control, Content filtering)
- Understanding of other network/security protocols (FHRPs, DHCP, NAT, QoS, ACLs, SNMP, AAA, Tunneling/VPN, VoIP, WLANs)
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix tools
- Proficiency with Cisco/Juniper ecosystems
- Desirable certifications: CCNA, JNCNA, FCA, PCNSA/ PCCSA or equivalent
