Operations Engineer I

Job Summary
Monitor and respond to all Paychex systems including server, storage, network, telecommunications, backups, facilities, and applications via the enterprise scheduler. Troubleshoot and maintain middleware and applications, performing upgrades and managing production payroll, tax, and 401k processing jobs. Proactively identify and automate resolution to availability and performance failures while researching data from monitoring tools to predict trends and mitigate issues. Create and maintain technical reference documentation for IT personnel and develop utilities for quick service restoration. Participate in on-call responsibilities to ensure 24x7 coverage for critical services. Assist internal teams in moving engineering tasks down to second-level resources for execution.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in Windows, Linux, middleware administration
- Demonstrates customer service skills
- Demonstrates problem solving skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer related discipline - Preferred
- 1 year of experience in Experience within Paychex IT Operations
