Job Summary
Conduct pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicles and maintain DOT paperwork and electronic logs for compressed gas deliveries. Collect branch delivery instructions, verify destinations, and follow approved transportation routes while adhering to OSHA and DOT regulations. Operate forklifts to unload full cylinders and load empty ones, then report vehicle defects or accidents to the plant manager. Maintain and clean the vehicle regularly to ensure it meets company and DOT standards. Be available for off-schedule and emergency deliveries, adapting to daily schedule changes and branch assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement
- At least 21 years old
- Must be able to pay attention to detail
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to drive both manual and automatic transmissions
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be able to operate in a drug free workplace
- Must wear all company supplied uniforms
- Must follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements related to this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Industry and related product knowledge, as well as experience handling compressed gases, preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent driving record
