Operations Director

Job Summary

Lead and transform Franklin, MA factory operations, overseeing manufacturing, engineering, planning, supply chain, quality, EH&S, and logistics. Provide strategic and hands-on leadership to build processes and systems where they do not yet exist, driving measurable performance improvements centered on operational and financial KPIs. Personally deploy Lean Manufacturing, 80/20 methodology, and continuous improvement frameworks to reduce variation and improve yields. Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Engineering, and international sites to optimize the end-to-end Order-to-Delivery process and stabilize new product introductions. Ensure ERP systems are configured for enhanced planning and decision-making while maintaining disciplined inventory control through cycle counting and annual physical inventory programs. Work effectively with unionized labor to foster collaboration and drive engagement. This on-site role supports Dynisco's global instrumentation business as part of AMETEK's portfolio.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations
  • Multi-site operations experience
  • Proven success aligning operational strategies with business objectives and driving measurable results
  • Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing, 80/20 methodology, and continuous improvement
  • Strong track record of leading operational turnarounds, factory transformations, or restructuring initiatives
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent)
  • Direct experience with Infor SyteLine (CSI)
  • Strong background in supply chain management, procurement, and logistics strategy
  • Expertise in quality management systems (ISO, IATF, or equivalent)
  • Experience working with unionized labor
  • Familiarity with EH&S frameworks and sustainability practices in manufacturing operations
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable operational plans
  • Data-driven decision-maker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Collaborative and influential across functions and organizational levels
  • Pragmatic, results-oriented leader who balances speed and discipline
  • Exceptional change management skills, effective in dynamic or turnaround environments

  • Must be available for on-site daily work at the Franklin, MA facility
  • Must be able to travel for occasional cross-site initiatives

Desired Qualifications

  • Multi-site operations experience strongly preferred
  • While this role is Franklin-focused, the ideal candidate has led operations across more than one facility and understands how to build and standardize processes that could scale beyond a single site
