Job Summary
Operations Data Engineer to own cloud operational health, architecture intelligence, and cost optimization for a cloud-first, enterprise SaaS platform. You will develop a deep understanding of our cloud infrastructure, map architectural decisions to cost drivers, identify anomalies and optimization opportunities, and build dashboards and real-time cost visibility for engineering, finance, and leadership. You will help define cloud governance policies (tagging standards, resource lifecycle management, rightsizing), partner with teams to assess cost impact before/after deployments, maintain runbooks and documentation, and translate complex technical findings into business-facing recommendations. Collaboration with engineering leadership on roadmaps and cross-functional handoffs is required. 5+ years in cloud operations/architecture or related roles and experience optimizing cloud spend at enterprise scale are expected.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, cloud architecture, or a related technical infrastructure role
- Strong Python skills
- Hands-on experience with AWS or Databricks
- Understanding of cloud-native architectures (containers, serverless, managed databases, distributed systems)
- Experience with observability/monitoring platforms (Datadog, CloudWatch)
- Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or FinOps Practitioner are a plus
