Job Summary
Oversee 24/7 Operations Control Center shifts by supervising a multi-person crew, managing schedules, and stepping in as an active supervisor or Level II Operator when needed. Direct real-time plant control using SCADA systems to adjust setpoints for maximum efficiency, coordinate electrical substation switching, and ensure accurate data logging for RTO/ISO grids. Lead team triage during simultaneous plant events, mentor staff on safety procedures, and partner with maintenance teams to troubleshoot telemetry issues. Maintain strict compliance with NERC standards and contractual obligations while remaining available for emergency on-call coverage and alternate shift flexibility. This on-site Bloomington role supports EDF power solutions North America's goal of delivering reliable, low-carbon energy across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- Current NERC Balancing and Interchange certification, or the ability to obtain it within 12 months of hire
- Familiarity with NERC, FERC, and regional system operator requirements
- Strong working knowledge of SCADA equipment and industrial communication systems
- Excellent computer and networking skills
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively
- 10% travel for offsite meetings or site visits as required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a 24/7 operational shift environment (such as a power plant)
- Equivalent business or military leadership experience
