Job Summary
Monitor, assess, and manually control chemical and mechanical equipment and process systems in the field to assure production processes function properly. Identify, operate, disable, and lock out various process equipment including columns, storage tanks, pumps, valves, compressors, and flow lines. Manually adjust process control variables and prepare equipment for service while following standard procedures. Perform routine monitoring and sampling, prepare process additives, and remove byproducts. Communicate daily events via shift logs and shift relief. Work under general supervision with direction from the Board Operator for non-standard conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Identify, understand the purpose for, and how to start, stop, operate, disable and lock out various types of process equipment such as columns, storage tanks, pumps, valves-control/manual, compressors, and the process flow lines
- Basic process chemistry knowledge
- Understand the hazards associated with working with process equipment and chemicals
- Ability to monitor and sample the process following standard procedures
- Ability to manually adjust process control variables and other equipment in the field
- Ability to prepare equipment for service following established rules and procedures
- Ability to prepare process additives following standard procedures
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing via shift log and shift relief of daily events
- Ability to receive and follow detailed verbal or written direction from supervision for non-standard conditions
