Operations and Compliance Manager

Job Summary
Lead compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law, National Quality Framework, and Regulations while conducting safety and quality audits across Outside School Hours Care and Long Day Care services. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthen child safety and safeguarding systems, and oversee incident management and risk mitigation processes. Develop operational policies, frameworks, and reporting systems to support high-quality practice and regulatory compliance. Provide executive-level reporting and analysis to support organizational decision-making. Coach and develop Operations Managers to build regional leadership capability. Requires a relevant Diploma-level qualification, current unrestricted driver's licence, and unrestricted working with vulnerable people registration. Full-time permanent role with 4 bonus-leave days per year and paid parental leave.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant Diploma-level qualification (or higher)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Quality Framework, including the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations
- Experience in compliance, quality assurance, auditing and continuous improvement within education and care services
- Knowledge of child safety, safeguarding, workplace health and safety, mandatory reporting and privacy obligations
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and people management skills
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Current unrestricted Driver's Licence
- Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Check, Working with Vulnerable People Registration and any other required screening clearances

- Knowledge of relevant regulations, compliance standards, and accreditation processes as they relate to child care

- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills including active listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and advocacy
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to respond to operational challenges proactively
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education
- Demonstrated experience in adhering to, developing, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating work instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures including a commitment to Quality Assurance Processes
- Commitment to the vision, mission, and values of CatholicCare Tasmania; ensuring that services provided to those who are the most vulnerable are delivered respectfully and in recognition of every person's inherent value, and a broad understanding of the operation of the Catholic Church in Tasmania
- Knowledge of the statutory requirements of Workplace Health and Safety standards, Duty of Care, Privacy legislation, Mandatory Reporting and Anti-Discrimination legislation
