Job Summary
Operational Excellence Manager leads continuous improvement across Magna Powertrain’s manufacturing facility, driving Lean initiatives, coaching employees at all levels, developing cross-functional teams, and delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost. Role requires hands-on leadership, ability to identify opportunities, guide cross-functional projects, develop employees, and implement sustainable process changes. Key activities include guiding Lean events (Kaizen, 5S), creating and maintaining value stream maps, supporting changeover reduction and standardization, driving TPM activities, and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949/ISO 14001 quality and environmental management systems. The position emphasizes simplifying processes, leading continuous improvement teams, and delivering sustainable performance improvements with strong communication and coaching capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading continuous improvement, operational excellence, or Lean Manufacturing initiatives
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all organizational levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related technical field
- Experience with Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Layered Process Audits (LPA), and Training Within Industry (TWI)
- Experience facilitating training programs and improvement workshops
