Operational Defect Manager​

Operational Defect Manager responsible for managing the full defect lifecycle from identification, classification and triage through to resolution, verification and closure. Performs functional analysis to distinguish genuine software defects from test case issues, environment problems or configuration gaps. Manages prioritised defect list, identifies highest-impact defects for escalation, and assigns correct owners for resolution while detecting defect clusters across related areas. Governs defect quality with testers, ensuring proper documentation and classification, and coordinates/moderates defect resolution across all parties. Monitors KPIs (ageing, resolution time, reopen rates, severity distribution) and provides regular status reports, drives trend analysis to identify systemic issues, and feeds findings back into development and testing improvement. Provides training and guidance to testers on correct defect handling methodology. Requirements include strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent coordination and communication for cross-team triage, experience with defect tracking tools (e.g. ALM, Jira or ServiceNow), and good command of written and spoken English. Nice-to-have items include ISTQB Foundation Level certification, ERP-centric experience (e.g. SAP S/4HANA), ITIL v4 Practitioner, and Agile/Scrum.
