Job Summary

Process RFQs, purchase orders, and purchasing documentation while verifying nomenclature, specifications, and supplier alternatives to fulfill demand. Coordinate material receipt and inventory levels to ensure on-time delivery, balancing current and future requirements with supplier capabilities. Lead cost reduction projects and support supplier rationalization plans to achieve business objectives and improve delivery, quality, and price performance. Analyze enterprise data to prepare reports and expedite items during shortages, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFAR procedures and Quality System requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business or Engineering
  • 1-3 years experience in a Manufacturing or Aerospace facility
  • 1-3 years work experience as a buyer
  • Capacity to logically solve problems and support projects by utilizing a data-driven, detail-oriented, approach
  • Analytical ability to support supplier performance reports, cost/price analyses, and other performance measures
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to participate in and/or lead a cross-functional team
  • Possess ability to drive for results, hold self and others accountable, and continuously improve
  • Should have a working knowledge of FAR/DFAR U.S. Government procurement procedures
  • Proficient user of computers and computer software
  • Excellent planning, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Results driven with excellent project and time management skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business or Engineering highly preferred
  • Previous work and/or internship experience in Supply Chain Management
  • CPSM or CPM certification, preferred
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Familiarity/experience with lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement techniques (e.g., RCCA, Six Sigma methodology)
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO-9001
  • Use of and deployment of electronic data interchange procurement and continuous replenishment methods
  • APICS or ISM certification preferred
