Job Summary
Operation Research Engineer responsible for developing and implementing optimization models to solve complex business problems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into optimization frameworks; maintain and enhance existing models to align with changing business needs; perform performance testing and troubleshooting to ensure efficiency; provide technical support and training on optimization tools; document optimization processes, models, and solutions for future reference. Requires strong business acumen and excellent communication/presentation skills. Preferred: experience with Power BI for reporting, knowledge of cloud environments, understanding of economic and constraint calculations in optimization models, ability to work with cross-functional teams to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in optimization modeling languages and environments (e.g., Gurobi, PuLP, Ampl, OR tools)
- Strong understanding of mathematical programming and heuristic optimization methods including linear programming, mixed integer programming, non-linear programming, and stochastic programming
- Experience with data storage solutions such as Azure Data Lake, Blob Storage, and SQL Server
- Advanced skills in Python programming and object-oriented programming
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, Applied Mathematics OR a graduate degree in a related field with operations research course work (Economics, data science, etc)
- 5+ years of experience in building and maintaining mathematical optimization models
