Job Summary
Manage the day-to-day operations of a medium-sized warehouse by scheduling staff, developing policies, and controlling inventory and equipment. Drive long-range strategic planning for manufacturing activities while overseeing inbound and outbound transportation service levels at the lowest possible cost. Negotiate carrier contracts, monitor vendor routing compliance, and lead safety initiatives including accident investigations and hazard reporting. Coordinate efficient material movement with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers while maintaining continuous quality performance standards. Occasional travel and after-hours work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Five years' experience in a Distribution/Logistics/Warehouse environment
- Must possess a minimum of three years' staff management experience
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Logistics or a related discipline
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
- First-Aid or CPR certification
- Advanced skills in MS Office, Access and proficient in Outlook and PowerPoint
- Proven experience and success within a computerized order entry and fulfillment environment
- Experience in process development, re-engineering and quality control
- Experience with cyclical inventory audit processes and inventory control
- Strong organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills
- Occasional travel may be required
- Additional work after hours and/or on weekends as required
Desired Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Logistics or a related discipline is preferred
