Job Summary
Operation & Maintenance Manager responsible for leading and optimizing the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a power plant in Pecos, TX. Oversees 24 engines and associated auxiliaries, ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance is planned and executed to meet safety and performance targets. Drives continuous improvement in reliability, availability, and efficiency through performance monitoring and data analysis, while maintaining QEHS compliance. Leads and develops the O&M team, coordinates resources and schedules, manages costs and budgets, and supports procurement and planning of materials and services. Acts as a key on-site leader, communicating with stakeholders and reporting on performance to align with customer expectations and long-term asset performance. Requirements include minimum 3 years in power plant operations/maintenance, experience with Maintenance Management Systems (SAP/MAXIMO), knowledge of integrated management systems, and strong leadership and communication skills. Familiarity with turbo-generators or diesel engines, medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, and use of MS Office and SAP tools. The role follows Wärtsilä’s hybrid work model with on-site presence portions and emphasizes safety, ethics, and continuous improvement; vaccination requirements may apply per country policy.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in power plant operation and maintenance
- Experience with Maintenance Management Systems (SAP or MAXIMO)
- Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Safety, Environment, and Energy)
- Experience in electric power generation systems (turbogenerators or diesel engines)
- Experience in medium- and low-voltage electrical systems
- Strong leadership and communication skills, teamwork ability, results orientation, and planning
- Knowledge of MS Office and SAP tools
- Ability to develop and implement maintenance plans and reports
- Ability to monitor and analyze plant operation parameters
- Ability to supervise personnel and training plans
