Job Summary
Manage enterprise batch workloads using BMC Control-M across distributed and mainframe platforms, handling installation, configuration, and maintenance of Control-M environments. Monitor and troubleshoot job failures, perform performance tuning, and ensure SLA adherence by analyzing logs and managing agent/server components. Execute version migrations, patch management, and cluster configuration maintenance while automating routine tasks via scripting or the Automation API. Support 24/7 production environments with strong knowledge of Change and Incident Management processes.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 7 Years of hands-on experience in Control-M Administration across Development and Production environments
- Strong knowledge of Control-M Agent, Control-M/EM, and Control-M Server installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Experience in monitoring and analyzing Control-M Agents and troubleshooting agent/server-related issues through log analysis
- Proficiency in adding/removing agents, managing clusters, and maintaining cluster configurations in the Control-M console
- Experience in performing agent and server upgrades, including version migrations and patch management
- Hands-on experience installing and configuring Control-M GUI and Windows-based Control-M Agents
- Good knowledge of Control-M batch job scheduling, job monitoring, and SLA management
- Experience in managing job failures, sysout/log retention policies, and service start/stop activities for Agents, EM, and Server components
- Familiarity with Change and Incident Management processes using tools like ServiceNow
- Knowledge of Control-M Automation API and Application Integrator
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting
- Understanding of disaster recovery (DR) procedures related to Control-M environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience handling enterprise-level Control-M environments with high job volumes
- Exposure to Control-M tool upgrades from older to newer versions in large-scale environments
- Experience working in Linux and Windows server environments, including root-level configurations
- Knowledge of Control-M integration with external applications, databases, and file transfer processes
- Experience in implementing performance tuning and optimization for batch workloads
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices for change, release, and problem management
- Ability to automate routine administrative tasks using scripting or Control-M Automation API
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills with the ability to support 24/7 production environments
