Job Summary
Prepare the operating room and patient for procedures; assemble/dismantle tables and instruments; open sterile supplies and set up for procedures; perform skin preparation and draping; assist surgeon with gowning/gloving; pass instruments and sutures; maintain instrument/suture/sponges counts; collect and care for specimens; decontaminate instruments and supplies; help with efficient turnover of the OR for the next case; work under supervision and support phlebotomy-related program activities as announced; compensation range noted based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of OR technician program or on-the-job training (non-certified) or military experience as technician or LPN; dental/ophthalmology/medical assistants may qualify
- Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) or NCCT certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
- 6 months experience or specialized training for non-certified/on-the-job/military training
