Job Summary
Operating Room Registered Nurse PRN role at Mission Hospital. Provides leadership within the perioperative team and delivers professional nursing care through the full nursing process in the OR. Responsibilities include evaluating patients preoperatively, educating patients and families about procedures and perioperative care, preparing patients (including IV therapy and preoperative medications), conducting surgical site verification and time-outs, recognizing and responding to emergencies, delivering high-quality evidence-based care, collaborating with surgeons, technologists, and other team members, and documenting care. Requires at least 1 year of OR RN experience; BSN required or enrolled with plan to obtain BSN within 5 years; North Carolina RN licensure (eNLC may apply); BLS certification; Masters in Nursing preferred.
Required Qualifications
- One year of OR RN experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or enrolled in BSN program with plan to obtain BSN within 5 years; 10+ years of RN experience exempt in some cases
- Current RN licensure in North Carolina or applicable state with eNLC consideration
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification
