Operating Room Registered Nurse PRN

Provide leadership facilitating delivery of professional perioperative nursing care in the operating room. Responsibilities include evaluating patients prior to surgery, preparing patients (including IV therapy and preoperative medications), educating patients and families about procedures and perioperative processes, participating in surgical site verification and universal protocols (briefing/time-out/debriefing), recognizing and responding to emergencies, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based practice and continuous improvement. Demonstrates applying the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and critical thinking to independently deliver safe nursing care, while documenting care and patient condition changes throughout the shift.
