Job Summary
Delivers safe, effective, and independent nursing care using the nursing process, including thorough patient assessments, care plan development, and accurate documentation. Performs patient education to address learning needs while recognizing cultural differences to individualize care. Functions in a developing leadership role, delegating appropriately and assisting in orienting staff and students. Works effectively with the interdisciplinary team to advocate for patients and families. Identifies needs for policy revisions based on evidence-based research and analyzes data to improve patient care and meet organizational standards. Requires a BSN or ADN with two years of recent experience, a valid Georgia nursing license, and BLS certification. Involves shift work, travel, and physical demands including lifting up to 75 lbs and exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years
- A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- Active compact/multistate license (eNLC) within 60 days of hire
- 36-75 lbs lifting capability
- 20-35 lbs lifting capability
- 10-20 lbs lifting capability
- Lifting 75 lbs max
- Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs
- Occasional to frequent standing & walking
- Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
- Shift work
- Travel may be required
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certification
- Additional certifications based on department and specialty
