Job Summary
Conduct circulating and scrub functions in the operating room, preparing the environment, managing sterile fields, and performing surgical counts. Monitor and communicate patient conditions before, during, and after surgery while documenting interventions and controlling room traffic. Provide nursing care to complex, high-acuity surgical patients using critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment. Ensure safety checklists are implemented and documented at all times. Maintain proficiency in accordance with organizational policies and standards of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- any relevant certification as determined at position level
- 6 months of OR nursing (RN) experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program
- BLS or CPR card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card good through sixty days of hire
