Job Summary
Conduct specialized hybrid learning through online modules, classroom didactics, hands-on skills, and simulation labs with clinical preceptorship in the operating room. Complete the PeriOperative 101 curriculum and matriculate through the residency program to prepare for certification through the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses (AORN). Participate in a two-year commitment in the new practice area following successful completion of the orientation period.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification
- Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
- Basic computer proficiency including the ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information
- Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with various members of the health care team, patients, and families
- Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work
- Multilingual skills (beyond that of English) in languages appropriate to the patient populations served by the Medical Center
- Analytical ability to solve clinical nursing issues and conduct quality improvement projects
- Must complete a background check before beginning their employment at the hospital
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu, as well as receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
- Two (2) year commitment in their new practice area following the successful completion of the residency orientation
Desired Qualifications
- BSN (preferred)
- Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification is preferred for certain practice areas
- Multilingual skills (beyond that of English) in languages appropriate to the patient populations served by the Medical Center
