Job Summary
Clean surgical areas by removing waste and linen, washing down furniture, lights, beds, and walls, then replace equipment in designated locations for the next case. Keep stretchers, IV poles, beds, tables, carts, and mayo stands clean and free of tape or suture. Maintain inventory of oxygen tanks, blankets, cleaning supplies, IV pumps, scrub brushes, masks, face shields, and paper towels. Adhere to standard precautions including gloves and face shields when performing daily activities. Prepare germicidal solutions per manufacturer recommendations and MSDS protocols. Transport patients, specimens, blood products, amputated limbs, and deceased individuals to and from the lab or morgue while checking patient ID bands and confirming details. Transport lasers, GI carts, and equipment with extreme care to prevent damage. Perform weekly autoclave/sterilizer cleaning as per departmental policy. Maintain terminal cleaning logs in a legible manner and sign out when leaving the department.
Required Qualifications
- CPR certification
- Full Time - Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm (Half call and weekend rotation)
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 year experience within healthcare environment
