Operating Room Cleaning and Support Technician

Clean surgical areas by removing waste and linen, washing down furniture, lights, beds, and walls, and replacing equipment in designated locations for the next case. Keep stretchers, IV poles, and specialty carts free of tape and suture, removing sharp containers when three-quarters full. Maintain inventory of oxygen tanks, cleaning supplies, and sterile items like masks and face shields. Adhere to standard precautions including gloves and face shields, prepare germicidal solutions per manufacturer recommendations, and use proper body mechanics when moving patients. Transport patients, specimens, blood products, and deceased individuals to appropriate units while verifying patient identity and confirming surgical details. Perform weekly autoclave cleaning, complete terminal cleaning logs, and attend staff meetings. Maintain current CPR certification and ensure patient privacy and comfort throughout all duties.
