Job Summary
Operating Room Charge Nurse for a brand-new Ambulatory Surgery Center in Lenexa, KS, overseeing daily OR scheduling and room assignments across four orthopedic suites. Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to ensure on-time case starts and efficient room turnover. Supervise day-to-day OR operations, liaise between Pre-op and OR, mentor perioperative staff, manage instrument/equipment/implant availability, ensure proper medication handling per DEA and HIPAA/privacy standards, and foster teamwork and patient-centered care. Requires standing 8–10+ hours, ability to lift/maneuver equipment, and RN licensure in Kansas with BLS/ACLS; CNOR preferred. On-site role in Leawood/Lenexa, Kansas.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of perioperative RN experience
- Orthopedic surgical experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Kansas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required (or must obtain within 90 days of hire)
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification preferred
