Job Summary

Monitor and troubleshoot plant systems at the North Bay Generating Facility, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while maintaining optimal performance. Collaborate with shift partners to uphold operating procedures, manage health and safety systems including safe work plans and equipment isolation, and perform routine preventative maintenance checks. Execute plant startup and shutdown procedures in both normal and upset conditions, conduct water chemistry tests, and maintain detailed logs of operating parameters. Participate in emergency response situations, incident management, and the near-miss program, while actively contributing to training, procedural development, and system reviews.

Required Qualifications

Valid Ontario (or Inter-Provincial) 2nd Class Operating Engineering Certificate
2 to 5 years of experience as an Operating Engineer in a power generation facility or large integrated process plant
Strong problem analysis and problem-solving skills
Strong computer skills
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
Ability to learn and train others
Ability to work safely and effectively both independently and in a team environment
