Job Summary
Operate and maintain critical building systems in a data-center/critical facility, including electrical, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), and emergency systems. Perform tests, rounds, and data analysis to ensure proper operation; monitor and adjust refrigeration, boilers, pumps, valves, and related equipment; install/repair piping, motors, wiring, and controls; troubleshoot malfunctions and take corrective action; oversee contractors and ensure safe storage and handling of hazardous materials; maintain engineering logs and respond to emergencies per escalation procedures; support preventive and corrective maintenance of UPS systems, generators, chillers, and other critical infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent
- Universal Technician for CFCs (or within 90 days of employment)
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Hands-on experience in a data center/critical facility including UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgear
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service
