Operating Engineer - Night Shift

Job Summary
Operate and maintain 100% uptime of all facility systems in a mission-critical data center environment, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and central utility plant operations. Perform preventive maintenance on fire/life safety, mechanical systems, and electrical equipment while monitoring building management systems to respond promptly to alarms and address issues before they impact operations. Analyze system operations to determine root causes of problems, implement corrective actions, and manage work orders through CMMS while coordinating with vendors and handling customer-facing tickets.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- 4+ years of related work experience with systems, emergency generators, and switchgears
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations/codes
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before small groups
- Working knowledge or capability to develop proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and other software packages
- Ability to professionally interact with tenants and contractors
- Capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 30 ft, and navigate rooftops
- Ability to work a night shift schedule (Wednesday 11p-7a, Thursday 9p-7a, Friday 9p-7a, Saturday 7p-7a)
- Flexibility to work holidays, on-call rotation, and respond to site emergencies
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
