Job Summary
Operating Engineer on the Facilities Team at JLL who will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical controls across Virginia sites. Responsibilities include responding to tenant service requests, monitoring and adjusting mechanical equipment, performing preventive maintenance, documenting readings in logbooks, ensuring safety procedures, and supporting on-site general maintenance tasks. Requires 30% administrative work using platforms like Corrigo/Workday/Outlook, travel to client sites with a company van, and adherence to safety standards. On-site role based in Glen Allen, VA with multi-site travel across Virginia; no visa sponsorship. Strong diagnostic, hands-on problem solving, and customer-service skills are emphasized, along with ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Trade school education, union training, military service, or college coursework in a related technical field
- Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs (if applicable to site requirements)
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to travel regularly to sites across Virginia
- Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and direct digital controls (DDC)
