Job Summary
Operating Engineer to conduct hands-on operations and maintenance in a class-A office space, including installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing equipment. Responsibilities include monitoring building systems, performing preventive/predictive/corrective maintenance on HVAC, pumps, and life-safety systems, reading technical drawings, overseeing building management and digital control systems, and ensuring proper operation in a high-risk environment. Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM; Pay: $40/hour. On-site in Wilmington, DE. Qualifications include proven experience in similar facilities, electrical/mechanical/plumbing expertise, knowledge of UPS, generators, lighting, fire suppression, life-safety equipment, ability to interpret schematics, and relevant certifications or licenses in facilities operations.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Operating Engineer in class-A office or commercial facilities
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, and air conditioning equipment
- Knowledge of critical systems including UPS, generators, fire suppression, and life safety equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and building management systems
- Strong formal conduct of operations skills and personal accountability
