Job Summary
Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for commercial properties; perform day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment (including boilers, chillers, pumps, DX units, cooling towers, VAV and air distribution systems), monitor energy management, and conduct routine inspections. Responsibilities include repairs to plumbing fixtures, fire and life-safety inspections per NFPA, documentation of activities, and ensuring safe, compliant operation while coordinating with supervision. Requires ability to travel between properties, work extended hours as needed, and maintain a neat, professional appearance.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Graduate of apprentice program or trade school preferred
- 5+ years of related work experience in operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting
- Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required (e.g., Journeyman or Master Electrician License, Refrigeration Certificate of Fitness, High Pressure Boiler License, etc.)
- May be required to have Universal Technician certification for CFCs depending on market licensure requirements
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Basic computing skills (Outlook, Excel & Word)
- Experience in operation, maintenance and repair of HVAC, boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, water systems
- Knowledge of energy management systems and building systems operations
