Job Summary
The Lifeguard will maintain safe swimming conditions, prevent accidents, and respond to emergencies in accordance with YMCA policies. Essential duties include scanning assigned zones, enforcing health and safety rules, and performing routine maintenance of the pool area. Applicants must hold YMCA or Red Cross lifeguard certification and complete an advanced swimming and rescue skills test. The role requires effective communication skills, the ability to develop rapport with members and staff, and participation in mandatory training.
Required Qualifications
- YMCA Lifeguard certification
- Red Cross lifeguard certification
- Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and AED certifications
- Pass an advanced swimming and rescue skills test
- Minimum age of 15
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Full range of body movement
