Job Summary

Open Rank Clinical Professor in the Physician Assistant Program on the Boston campus. Responsible for teaching in the didactic component of the PA curriculum, ensuring high educational and medical quality, program organization and administration, student education and mentoring. Includes scholarship contributions to PA education and clinical practice, service to the program/university/community, maintaining accreditation standards, and participating in program evaluation, curriculum development, and clinical site development/monitoring. Responsibilities also encompass admissions committee participation, curriculum coordination, remediation planning, advising and mentoring, small-group instruction and simulation/skills labs, and offering remote/online instructional support as needed. Requires mastery of ARC-PA standards, travel to clinical sites, and demonstration of leadership in PA education.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in a field related to physician assistant practice or the education of physician assistant students.
  • Physician assistants must be currently certified by the NCCPA.
  • Physician candidate must be certified by an ABMS specialty board or by an AOA approved specialty board.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Proven experience in higher education (faculty, lecturer, preceptor, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organization, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with computer technology (word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, databases).
  • Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting clinical education, students, and the physician assistant profession.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to integrate technology into the educational experience.
  • Ability to travel to clinical sites.
  • At least three (3) years of experience as a practicing clinician.
  • Expertise in administration, resource allocation and assessment planning, program accreditation, technology integration, and online learning.
