Job Summary
Deliver and evaluate university-year curriculum as a Sessional Instructor for the University Year 1 Consortium program. Responsibilities include delivering 12 three-hour lectures per course, preparing course materials and instructional resources, designing and administering assignments, tests, and final assessments, grading and posting final marks, managing course materials on the course webpage, responding to student inquiries, providing academic support during regular office hours, and coordinating with the Senior Associate Dean or Unit Coordinator. Must be available weekdays (9:00am–12:00pm or 1:00pm–4:00pm). All courses are 3-unit, 12-week sections with a 16-week contract and a workload that includes in-class instruction, preparation, grading, meetings, and course administration. Salary is $7,020 per course. Educational knowledge requirements emphasize a Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education, Indigenous knowledge, language proficiency, and relevant experience. Courses cover Cayuga and Mohawk language and culture, Indigenous studies, psychology, sociology, health determinants, and related university-level offerings across partner institutions. The role is in-person at Six Nations Polytechnic in Ontario, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education, Indigenous knowledge, language proficiency, and relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to deliver lectures, prepare materials, design and administer assessments, grade, and provide academic support in an Indigenous knowledge context
- Experience teaching or facilitating in postsecondary or Indigenous education settings (preferred)
- Ability to hold regular student office hours and participate in training/meetings
- Familiarity with university-level course structures and assessment practices
