Job Summary
Analyze and prioritize requests for system changes and enhancements, including requirements gathering for the EPIC EMR system. Assure proper change control and documentation for upgrades, while investigating user problems to determine and implement solutions. Effectively work as a team member to ensure quality of integration across system applications, including coordination with vendors and third-party entities. Document system and business requirements, create test plans and scripts for user acceptance testing, and assist in developing new operational procedures. Provide guidance and support for ongoing training, including the development and implementation of training materials.
Required Qualifications
- All post high school education must have been obtained from a recognized College or University
- Associates degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field Required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field Preferred
- 1 year experience in Healthcare Informatics preferred
- Prior experience or proficiency with EPIC application software is preferred
- Must achieve EPIC proficiency within the first six (6) months of hire date
- Must be highly motivated and exhibit the interpersonal skills necessary to achieve results through coordinating efforts with others in a collaborative manner
- Team player with all applications with a can-do attitude
- Ability to mentor, trains, and teach others
- Must be able to deal with stressful situations effectively
- Demonstrates courteous, kind, caring, and compassionate behavior and projects a positive attitude to support organization
- Demonstrates knowledge of procedures for protecting and maintaining security, confidentiality and integrity of employee, patient, family, organizational and other medical information
- Understands and supports the commitment of Methodist Hospitals in adhering to federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations governing ethical business practices for healthcare providers
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of hardware and software applications
- Participate in development; implementation and testing of application software, specifically those associated or that interact with the Epic EMR
- Participate in the development; implementation and testing of application software, specifically the Epic modules
