Job Summary
Coding Specialist for Outpatient Facility Same Day Surgeries; provides CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM coding for Outpatient Facility Same Day Surgeries. Requires 2-3 years of SDS and OBS experience, and certification through AAPC (CPC/COC) or AHIMA (CCS/CCS-P). Works from home with independent coding responsibilities, applying ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS codes, and ensuring documentation supports accurate reimbursement. Maintain productivity and quality targets (95%+), follow AHIMA Standards and Company Ethics, and use EMR/Billing systems. Proficiency in Excel and Outlook; ability to communicate professionally; adherence to privacy regulations.
Required Qualifications
- All coders MUST be certified through either the AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P). CCA, CPC-A not accepted
- Must have at least a minimum of 2 years of on the job experience in SDS and OBS
- Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required
- Must have working knowledge and experience with systems such as EMR, Billing, etc
- Must have a phone, reliable internet connection and current coding materials such as CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references
- Will be required to maintain an ongoing productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher
- Must be proficient in Microsoft programs like Excel and Outlook
