Job Summary
OP Facility ED Coder at CorroHealth remotely supports outpatient emergency department coding using CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM. Responsibilities include coding ED procedures, calculating E/M levels via company algorithms, recognizing critical care cases, ensuring documentation supports codes, and aligning with AHIMA/AAPC ethical standards while maintaining 95% productivity and 95% quality. Must be certified through AAPC (CPC/COC) or AHIMA (CCS/CCS-P) with 2+ years of ED/outpatient coding experience; able to work from home with EMR/Billing systems, and proficient in Excel/Outlook.
Required Qualifications
- Must be certified through either the AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P)
- CCA, CPC-A not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of on-the-job experience in ED/outpatient coding
- Working knowledge of EMR and Billing systems
- Proficiency with CPT, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS
- Ability to maintain productivity 95%+ and quality score 95%+
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to operate computer terminal 6-8 hours/day
- Respect for privacy and security regulations
